Answers toFrequently Asked Questions1. Yes, they do, usually at one another. Well-socialized llamas will typically only spit at humans if really provoked, however. 2. Anywhere from $50 for a probably unsocialized, untrained and un-handleable animal from a sale barn to upwards of $50,000 for a llama whose proven breeding contributions are in high demand. More commonly, pet and guard llamas will run $500 and up and breeding stock will run $2000 and up. 3. Well, we just keep them as pets and occasionally show because we enjoy it. However, you can train llamas to pull carts and to carry packs; they are great "public relations" animals to take to schools and nursing homes; and their fiber is often desired by handspinners. 4.
